William Knorr MD (Chief of Child/Adolescent Services)

Dr. KnorrDr. William Knorr, received his medical degree from Temple University in 1974 and started a career in pediatrics with an internship and residency at the University of Iowa.  After 10 years as a pediatrician, Dr. Knorr began a second medical career in psychiatry. He completed a residency at the University of Vermont Medical School and later a fellowship at the University of Pittsburg School of Medicine.  He is currently board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatricians, and is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in three psychiatric specialties:  Adult Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and Addictions Psychiatry.

From 1989 to 2001 Dr. Knorr served as an Assistant Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Dartmouth Medical School.  Today. He continues to teach clinical psychiatry at Dartmouth Medical School as an Adjunct Professor.

Dr. Knorr has been at the Brattleboro Retreat for more than 19 years.  His clinical areas of expertise include eating disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood disorders and addictions.
