Child and Adolescent Services

The Brattleboro Retreat offers a full continuum of specialized mental health care for children and adolescents from ages 5 to 18. We work closely with clients, their families or caregivers, social service agencies and local community providers.

Treatment services include:

Inpatient Care: Short term, acute crisis stabilization and specialized assessment on two units—one dedicated to children ages 5 to 12 and another for adolescents ages 12 to 18. When clinically appropriate, some 17 and 18 year olds are eligible for treatment in our adult inpatient programs.
Partial Hospitalization: Therapeutic day treatment with school
Residential Treatment for both Children and Adolescents
Meadows Educational Center an independent, Vermont-accredited school offering elementary, middle, and high school curriculums
Tower Program, a non-clinical alternative school
Outpatient Services offered the Anna Marsh Behavioral Care Clinic
Therapeutic Activity Services including adventure-based programs, outdoor recreational activities, arts and crafts, and much more.
