Continuing Education Credit Information

Retreat Healthcare's Continuing Education program provides advanced practice workshops and seminars throughout the year, intended for psychiatrists and other physicians, social workers, psychologists, therapists, school counselors, nurses, and other professionals seeking information on behavioral health issues.

For your convenience, Retreat Healthcare obtains approvals for most mental health disciplines. If you have any questions about whether a course is approved for your profession or by your state's licensing board, please contact them directly.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS FOR FULL - DAY PROGRAMS:

Each educational conference is accredited by the following organizations:

Physicians: 6.5 Category 1 CME credit hours of the Physicians Recognition Award of the AMA
Psychologists: 6 CE credit hours. The Brattleboro Retreat is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Brattleboro Retreat maintains responsibility for this program and its contents.
Nurses: 6 ANCC contact hours. The Brattleboro Retreat is approved as a provider of continuing education by the Vermont State Nurses Association, Inc., which is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Social Workers: The Brattleboro Retreat, provider #1139, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. The Brattleboro Retreat maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers participating in one-day courses will receive 6 continuing education clock hours.
Teacher Recertification: 6 credit hours approval based on submission to state licensure board as part of Professional Development Plan.
Employee Assistance Professionals: 6.25 PDHs. Approval through the Employee Asiistance Certification Commission under the auspices of Employee Assistance Professionals Association, Inc.
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Professionals: The Brattleboro Retreat is a National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Approved Continuing Education Providor (ACEPTM ) and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours that meet NBCC requirements. The Brattleboro Retreat is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. LCMHCs participating in one-day courses will receive 6 continuing education clock hours.
Marriage and Family Therapists: 6 CME contact hours through the Vermont Board of Allied Mental Health Practitioners.
Drug and Alcohol Counselors: Application for continuing education approval through the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) is pending. Please contact the Office of Continuing Education at 1-877-274-3050 for more information.
