Retreat Healthcare Adds Clinical Program Managers
September 25, 2004 Brattleboro, VT--Retreat Healthcare has added three new clinical Assistant Manager positions to its Adolescent Residential Programs. Pam Harvey, LICSW, Maureen Kaplan, LICSW, and Ron Recchi, LICSW have been hired to manage each of the residential programs units in addition to continuing to provide direct clinical treatment. Under the new structure, the Assistant Managers will work with the Manager of Residential Programs, Nancy Gordon, LICSW, to enable enhanced staff supervision and training that will improve the quality of care for the residents. Pam Harvey, Assistant Manager for the Adolescent Co-Ed Residential Program, earned her Masters in Social Work at Smith College, and has been involved with social work and teaching throughout her professional career since 1965. She has worked as a social worker at Retreat Healthcare since 1998 on both inpatient and residential adolescent programs. Maureen Kaplan, Assistant Manager for the Adolescent Girl’s Residential Program, joined Retreat Healthcare in 2001, as a Social Worker with the Girls’ Adolescent Program. She earned her Masters in Social work at Simmons College and is enrolled in the Doctoral Program at Smith College’s School of Social Work. Ron Recchi, Assistant Manager for the Adolescent Boy’s Residential Program, earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston University in 1988, and joined the Retreat in 2000 as a social worker with the Boys’ Adolescent program. The Retreat’s Adolescent Residential program is a behaviorally based program providing intensive psychiatric care in a residential setting for males and females, ages 12 to 18, who show symptoms of psychiatric and behavioral problems. The program uses a cognitive-behavioral treatment approach, including a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) track, to give adolescents the greatest possible chance of leading a satisfying life. Retreat Healthcare accommodates adolescents in separate units depending on the clinical needs of each individual. Each unit is staff-secure and continuously supervised. The Adolescent Residential program draws upon many support services that come with its affiliation with Retreat Healthcare. These include an on-grounds hospital facility for backup support, crisis intervention, psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, a medical clinic, and therapeutic activities, as well as a fully accredited onsite school.
