Governor Douglas Returns to Retreat Healthcare

March 27, 2003

Brattleboro, VT-Governor James Douglas will visit Retreat Healthcare on Thursday, April 3, at 4:00pm.

Before he was officially inaugurated, Governor Douglas visited the Retreat in December, 2002 to learn firsthand about some of the highlights of Retreat Healthcare services as well as financial challenges, in recognition of the importance of the Retreat to the region. Since then, both Governor Douglas and Secretary of the Agency of Human Services, Charles Smith, have invested considerable time and energy focusing on these issues, and seeking ways within the State's means to help address them. To date, they have responded in several significant and concrete ways, including increasing the state's Medicaid reimbursement rates for children and adolescent programs.

The Governor's return visit provides an opportunity for the Retreat to update the Governor on the positive impact of these and other developments, and to publicly thank him for his support.
